The Mavic X-Tend motor is a mid-drive motor that is designed to be lightweight and efficient. It uses power meter technology rather than more common place eBike torque sensor tech to provide an assisted riding experience more familiar and pleasing for road cyclists.
The motor weighs just 1.2kg and has a nominal output of 250W with a peak of 390W providing 37Nm of torque (50Nm at peak power).
The motor is powered by a 2Kg 360Wh battery based on a permanent intube design therefore integrated into the down tube of the bike.
The motor has four different assist levels: 30%, 60%, 120% and 150% burst at peak power.
Mavic claim that the motor has no noticeable resistance about 25kmh and therefore very much feels like you are riding a normal road bike above this speed.
The Mavic X-Tend motor is compatible with most standard road bike designs using Shimano hollowtech.
