New Lightweight Motor – The Performance Line SX
The Bosch Performance Line SX
The Bosch Performance Line SX is the lightest and most powerful Bosch eBike motor yet. It weighs in at just 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) and delivers a peak power output of 600 watts. This makes it ideal for sporty eGravel and eUrban bikes, where riders demand a lightweight, agile bike with plenty of power.
The Performance Line SX also features a number of other performance-enhancing features, including:
- A maximum torque of 55 Newton meters, which provides plenty of power for tackling hills and obstacles.
- A sprint mode that temporarily increases the motor’s power output for even more acceleration.
- Rewards the correct use of gearing (and thereby transmission health) with starting assist optimised for a high cadence.
- A smooth, natural riding feel that makes it easy to forget you’re riding an eBike.
The Performance Line SX is compatible with the latest Bosch eBike system 3, which includes a new controller, display, and battery. This system offers a number of new features, such as:
- A more intuitive user interface.
- A longer range battery.
- Improved connectivity with smartphones and other devices.
The Bosch Performance Line SX is a powerful and versatile motor that is perfect for riders who demand the best of both worlds: lightweight agility and plenty of power. It is available on a range of eBikes from leading manufacturers, including Trek, Specialized, and Cannondale.
Here is a table comparing the Performance Line SX to other Bosch motors:
Motor | Weight | Peak Power | Torque |
---|---|---|---|

Performance Line CX | 2.9 kg (6.4 lbs) | 85 Newton meters | |
Performance Line | 3.3 kg (7.3 lbs) | 75 Newton meters | |

Bosch ABS
Bosch eBike and Tektro have announced a partnership to bring Bosch eBike ABS to more e-bikes. The partnership will allow bicycle manufacturers to choose from Tektro’s braking systems when installing the Bosch eBike ABS.
Tektro is a Taiwanese brake manufacturer that has been in business for over 50 years. The company is known for its high-quality brakes, which are used on a wide range of bicycles, including e-bikes.
The Bosch eBike ABS is a braking system that helps to prevent wheel lock-up during braking. This can be a major safety hazard, especially on slippery surfaces. The Bosch eBike ABS uses sensors to monitor the speed of the wheels and the braking force. If the system detects that a wheel is about to lock up, it will automatically apply the brakes to the opposite wheel. This helps to keep the bike stable and prevents the rider from losing control.
The Bosch eBike ABS is available for all Bosch-powered eBikes. The system is compatible with Tektro’s hydraulic disc brakes, which are some of the most popular brakes on the market.
The partnership between Bosch eBike and Tektro is a major step forward for the development of eBike ABS. It will allow more e-bike manufacturers to offer this important safety feature, which will help to make e-biking even safer.
The first e-bikes with the Bosch eBike ABS and Tektro brake components are expected to be available from the third quarter of 2023.
