Five of the best ebikes in stock

Speed along country lanes, attack the downhill, or potter around town on our pick of the best e-bikes in stock right now!!

Whether you're just looking for serious fun or simply want to make your commute more eco-friendly and save money, an electric bike should prove a solid lifestyle investment.

Is an electric bike worth the investment?

Of course, we will say electric bikes make an excellent investment. We sell them!! But don't take our word for it. Look at the facts.

At Electric Bike Sales, all the bikes we sell are of the best quality, from household brands such as Raleigh and Lapierre and award-winning manufacturers such as Riese and Muller and Haibike.

Electric bikes are sophisticated machines with motors built into the frame or wheels. These motors are controlled by clever sensors in the frame and wheels that sense how much effort a rider puts in. It's like riding a bike with superpowers.

Power-assisted pedaling can let you keep up with stronger cyclists when you're new to the sport or recovering from an injury. In addition, the amount of effort you have to put into cycling can be tweaked according to how much of a workout you fancy, perfect if you don't want to arrive at the office a sweaty mess.

How far can an electric bike go?

Some of our trekking bikes can comfortably achieve a range of over 70 miles before recharging, which only takes a few hours. However, a range of 30 to 50 miles for most riders will be plenty.

Is an electric bike eco-friendly?

Couple riding electric bikes

In short…. yes, particularly when compared with petrol/diesel vehicles or even an electric car. Electric bikes have a tiny carbon footprint and minimal impact on the planet. E-bikes use far less precious resources to manufacture than cars, making them a great alternative to other vehicles. No toxic waste or greenhouse gases are pumping out of the exhaust, and if you charge your battery from renewable sources, you can ride around feeling smugly eco.

Electric bikes don't cost the earth

How much does an excellent electric bike cost? Our electric bike range starts at just under £1500, so they do not come cheap. But there are various ways to help you get your dream bike, including cycle-to-work schemes and interest-free finance.

By 2023, the Bicycle Association predicts UK sales of 500,000 eBikes per year as new technologies and infrastructure are introduced. eBikes will become an everyday sight on our roads and tracks as more cycling infrastructure is built.

E-bike UK rules

Under UK laws, e-bike riders must be aged over 14. The motor must only operate while you are pedaling before switching off when you reach a speed of 15.5mph.

You are not required to wear a helmet, but lights and reflectors are obligatory if riding at night.

Third-party insurance isn't a legal requirement, but buying some is a good idea just in case you are ever involved in an accident.
