Smarta Bike does what its name implies
"This is by way of a joint review of both the Smarta Bike and the dealership where I bought it at Bristol.
Everything about this Smarta Bike I like.
Also I was delighted with the service I got from Chris in Bristol. I booked to go and see him at the workshop which is 100 miles from my home. I took my own bike up there to see if it could be matched up to a Sparticle DIY kit. I have a 2-bike rack on the back of my van so I was prepared to bring whatever purchase I made back home even if I was bringing a new bike and my old one back. No other dealer in the South West seemed to have any Powacycles for me to try. So I had a go on one at Bristol.
Chris went out of his way to try to fit the Sparticle DIY kit to the front forks of my Schwinn Sierra. This was something I appreciated as some dealers would have sold me a kit and it would be up to me to work out how to fit it then I'd find out after driving home with it, that it couldn't be made to fit without serious added expense to modify the Schwinn. Then I'd be stuck.
Not so with Bristol.
In the end it was proving too tricky so Chris guided me at my request into selecting a new bike that would be best suited to my needs. I found something that suited me, and still kept my old bike.
I didn't like the comfort level on the Powacycle that I tried, and information from Chris about the difference between the Powacycle and the Smarta Bike he explained in full so I could make my choice. A demo ride on the Smarta was all it took and I bought a new one.
Chris built it up straight from the crate and I appreciated that he didn't just sell me any old one from the showroom that had been kicking around in stock for months. His construction was rapid and accurate so the bike was 100% safe.
Back home it works a treat after a 12 hour charge up. 4 miles was a doddle. Up a long hill it ran out of puff carting my 15+ stone for that distance and I was trying to let the motor do too much. I should add that I am going on a diet and a fitness plan because it's unfair of me to expect a 200watt motor to pull me along like a touring motorcycle!
I got off and started to push the last third of the hill but the bike was still able to pull itself along when I opened the throttle, so I let it pull me up the hill like having two strong dogs on a lead desperate to get to a cat at the top!
Got back on and all was well the motor had cooled and it ran me home nicely from there. I wasn't even out of breath.
6 miles today on it and the battery isn't even showing less than full!
All in all it's a great machine. Built like a tank but not too heavy to lift up on the car rack when you take the battery off.
I'm customizing it with a few extras like rear view mirror - drinking flask - soft springy saddle - odometer and other little luxuries. But I rate this bike very highly. I'll be glad to travel100 miles back to Bristol to have it serviced (not on the Smarta Bike though - I'm not that mad!) I reckon it was money well spent. I picked the best people to point me into my purchase.
I offer my grateful thanks to Chris and the company and will recommend them of course to other people when i get the chance. This is the proper definition of the word "service"."

love it, love it, love it!
"I recently bought the Smarta Bike from you guys and I just love it, love it, love it! I'm cycling the kids around Edinburgh up and down hills- no problem whatsoever. I'm out on my bike almost every day. I feel like I've finally got my freedom back. My husband says I always return with a big smile on my face when I've been out with the kids on the bike..."

I am very pleased with my lovely Smarta
""Dear Jamie I received the bike two days ago, charged the battery as instructed and went for my first spin on it last night after work. It was exhilirating! And I must have looked like an idiot because I was cycling with a big grin on my face. I rode it to work this morning, and I was impressed at how easily I was able to cycle, uphill all the way, and against the wind. Thanks so much, I am very pleased with my lovely Smarta.""

Comment: brilliant service!
"Following a very poor response from another well established bike company I decided to purchase a Smarta LX3 from The Electric Transport Shop due the first class advice and service I recieved from Eddie and his colleagues. Once ordered, my bike arrived the following day and I am delighted with it. Being rather an 'electric bike rookie, I have asked advice from Eddie on a few occasions and have h'ad an immediate and veryhelpful response from him and his colleagues. I wanted to share my confidence in this supplier with others who may be wondering just where the best place to purchase an e-bike is....no contest!"

"I have been using this for a few days so far to commute to work in London - it is wonderfully powerful and can get up a real speed without much pedalling, or indeed without any at all on the flat. I love the freedom of being able to take on journeys that would normally be too far on a pedal bike. The battery power has never gone below 2 out of 3 bars even after ~14 miles. The only downside for me is the large size and weight of the bike - it's slightly hard work to cycle it without power and I couldn't go as fast as I would on a normal bike. However overall very much enjoying this bike."

"I have had my Smarta LX8 for a couple of months and I'm delighted with both the bike and your shop in Oxford. Due to problems with my hip I had not been able to ride a bike for three years because my hip must not bend over 90 degrees. Nikki went to a lot of trouble to adjust the bike and I have now regained my freedom! Having the throttle twist grip is an enormous help and the pedelec is great when going up long hills. Also the gear change is smooth and easy to use. We live at the top of a fairly steep hill and the bike helps me up with little effort after a long ride."

"These bikes are a dream. They take the hills and bumpy roads with no difficulty whatsoever. There are many mountain roads here in Crete so for us they are just fantastic. Worth every penny. Thanks to Eddie and the team at The Electric Bike Shop for all their help."

"I got my Smarta LX yesterday and was really pleased with the quality. After charging the battery, I went for a ride this morning.
I live in North Wales and we have some very steep hills round here. This had more or less stopped me cycling because it hurt my back to push the bike up hill. I was worried the Smaarta would not cope with the hills (most are more than 15%). Wow am I pleased. It coped with all but the steepest hill with ease and I am pretty sure it will sail up that one once I am more confident about going round a very narrow bend on a steep hill on the bike. As my husband and I share a car and, he takes that to work most days I feel as if I have got my freedom back"
