SMARTA ebike batteries are amongst the first to receive BATSO certification. They are also certified to EN 61000 and the bikes are EN 19154 certified.

The performance and presentation are fantastic for a sub £1,000 ebike. Hills are tackled as well as Wisper se models and the range on the battery is an excellent 20 to 40 miles depending on use, rider weight and input etc.

The LX is perfectly specified for a low maintenance all round day to day ebike. You will appreciate the power, range and comfort that is characteristic of the Smarta ebike family.

There is a choice of Shimano Nexus 3 speed hub gears (standard) or the  8 speed hub gears with the integral Shimano IM70 fan cooled hub brake (select from upgrades below). This gear system  provides instant gear changes even when stationary and has none of the problems associated with the derailleur system. This is because the cogs are not exposed to dirt, the elements or the everyday knocks from daily use.

Other intelligent features include folding pedals, and full mudguard, chainguard, intelligent charger, stainless steel parts, and a luggage rack all as standard. All bike components are UK standard.

4 levels of pedal assistance can now be selected from the handlebar controls, including turning the bike on or off. Additionally, this bike has regenerative charging. When the power is turned off but you are pedalling or coasting, the motor acts as a dynamo, recharging the battery.  You also have the option of a twist and go throttle that will help you start off on hills and navigate encroaching traffic.

The system is entirely modular so if you are a roaming motorhome owner and you need a replacement component while abroad all components can be changed within 10 mins without any experience or technical knowledge.

This bike is delivered 95% built so it requires less assembly than any other ebike we sell. All you really need to do is fix the handlebars into position, pump up the tyres, charge the battery and check the brakes and gears (unlikely to need adjustment out of the box) before setting off.

You get a 2 year warranty with a 1 year battery warranty, and each model has an inspection certificate as these bikes are quality controlled to an extremely high standard. This bike conforms to all relevant UK laws.
