In a nutshell - this is a well built machine. Riding this bike feels much less like an electric bike and more like a good quality non electric bicycle. The assist is so smooth it is hard to notice when it cuts in and out. The Panasonic drive unit works in harmony with the rider. It monitors the pressure on the pedals by the rider, and simultaneously applies a relative amount of motor assistance. This has the effect of making the cycling experience very conventional, except hills are less of a challenge! The crank-mounted drive system coupled with the quiet operation of the Panasonic system means that nobody would even know you were riding an electric bike. There are many imitations out there but there is only one Raleigh!

The bicycle manufacturer, Raleigh - The Raleigh Bicycle Company, est. 1887, is one of the most experienced bicycle manufactuers in the world. They really don't need much more said about them than that, suffice to say that their incredible reputation has stood the test of time. Hasnt' a Raleigh always been the bike we aspired to?

The electronics manufacturer, Panasonic - The Panasonic crank drive motor has won world-wide approval for its efficiency, reliability, looks and lightweight setup. Driving 250w of brushless motor power through the bikes own chain means that the motor strains less on hills. The 26v 8Ah battery weighs 2.4kgs, yet returns a repectable range of between 25 and 40 miles dependent on all the usual variables.

The Raleigh Dover is available as a step-through or step-over frame design.
