YOUR RIGHTS
The Electric Transport Shop (TETS) is a UK based company and complies with UK consumer law including the Distance Selling Regulations. This means that shopping with us is safe. Our Terms and Conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
PRICING POLICY
TETS maintains an aggressive pricing policy and we keep our overheads low and pass the savings to you. We closely monitor other retailers on an ongoing basis to maintain our competitive pricing. TETS strives to be open and honest, so we will never raise our prices to set up an artificial discount (a common but illegal retail practice).
We pride ourselves in offering a fast, efficient, friendly and very secure shopping experience, with high quality, innovative products at fair prices.
RETURNS & REPAIRS
TETS adhere to the Distance Selling Regulations, which are designed to protect you when buying items by Mail Order. We offer a flexible 7 day returns policy and are happy to accept items back for a refund or exchange if you have a change of heart, if you've ordered the wrong things, if the items are damaged or faulty upon receipt or you simply don't like what you've ordered. Refunds for unwanted items are subject to a minimum processing fee of £20.00. (This charge will appear on your invoice as a handling fee)
RETURNING AN ITEM FOR REFUND OR EXCHANGE
It is advised to contact us before you make a return.
Goods must be returned within 7 days of receipt.
Goods must be in original packaging.
Goods must not be fitted or used.
The customer is responsible for meeting the return postage costs. We can arrange our courier to collect the bike from you. The charge for this is £30 and must be met before our courier is instructed. The customer is fully responsible for ensuring that the goods arrive in good condition. Refunds for unwanted items are subject to a minimum processing fee of £20.00. (This charge will appear on your invoice as a handling fee)
WARRANTEES
If you feel that a product purchased from TETS has developed a fault then please contact us as many problems can be sorted out over the telephone or by email.
We guarantee the frame, wheels, footplates, motors, chargers and control gear across most of our of bikes and scooters for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. This guarantee does not include general wear and tear, or faults caused by misuse - including but not exclusively - dropping the scooter or bike on to the handlebars, resulting in broken brakes or throttles, broken lights, worn brakes etc. Batteries are guaranteed for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase.
This guarantee does not include misuse of the battery such as not following the manufacturer's guidelines for charging, discharging and storing the battery. After the initial 7-day cooling-off period, we reserve the right to send you either replacement parts for standard items (which we expect you to fit) including brakes, cables, fixings etc. If the nature of the problem is such that it requires professional attention, we may initially ask you to seek the opinion of a nearby cycle shop. You may return the product to us for repair within the warrantee period. Goods must be clean and not covered in dirt and oil. If the bike has been in anyway tampered with or modified then this will invalidate the warrantee. The warrantee does not cover incorrectly assembled bicycles, sub-standard repairs, or poorly looked (neglected) items. This includes extensive rain damage and other weather damage. The warrantee may be invalidated if the bike is not kept indoors or undercover. If an item needs to be returned outwith the 7 day cooling-off period for any reason whatsoever then the customer is responsible for getting the item to our premises. This includes meeting the packaging and postage (courier) costs. We can arrange our courier to collect the bike from you for a charge of £30 and this must be met before our courier is instructed to collect. The customer is fully responsible for ensuring that the goods arrive in good condition. Our couriers will not collect items not suitably packaged and protected. We do not accept any responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit regardless of the method of return used. It is therefore your
Clothing, Helmets and headwear: We are unable to accept returns of helmets, clothing or headwear for hygiene reasons, unless they have a manufacturing fault.
Items lost in transit: We cannot be held responsible for packages lost in transit: as you are responsible for returning the item(s) to us.
LOCAL HELP
If you require local help to assemble your bike or to carry out maintenance on your bike we are happy to liase with your preferred local bicycle shop to ensure you get the service you nee. Any charges incurred in using a local bike shop will be met by you the customer. It is possible that we already have an agreement with a bicycle shop in your area.
WRONG ITEMS RECEIVED
New items returned because we have posted you the wrong item.
If we have sent you the wrong item we will be happy to correct our mistake and subject to written agreement, meet the costs for returning the item. We will not accept responsibility for any items lost or damaged in transit. It is the customer's responsibility to cover any insurance cover required.

TETS FAST TRACK RETURNS
If you are in an extreme hurry to get your return processed, you can opt for a TETS Fast Track Return. With this option, you simply place a new order for the replacement item and we charge for and deliver the order as normal. Then you can simply return the original item for a refund (subject to the above criteria).
You will be charged in full for the replacement goods when they are sent
The Fast Track Return Option can only be processed on new items for exchange and does not apply to faulty, damaged or warranty inspection items.

ORDERS & SPECIFICATIONS
No order submitted by the buyer shall be deemed to be accepted by the seller unless and until confirmed by the sellers authorised representative. The buyer shall be responsible to the seller for ensuring the accuracy of the terms of any order (including any applicable specification) submitted by the buyer and for giving the seller any necessary information relating to the goods within a sufficient time to enable the seller to perform the contract in accordance with those terms. The quality, description and quantity of and any specification for the goods shall be those set out in the sellers quotation (if acceptable by the buyer) or the buyers order (if accepted by the seller). For any goods manufactured, the buyer shall indemnify the seller against all claims,loss, damages and expenses incurred or for any infringement of patent, copyright,design, trademark or other intellectual property rights for which the seller may become liable by following the requirements or specification supplied. The seller reserves the right to make any changes to the specification for goods,which are required to conform to, any statutory or safety requirements.
FORCE MAJEURE
The Electric Transport Shop will not be liable to the Buyer or deemed to be in breach of contract because of any delay or non-performance directly or indirectly due to any cause beyond TETS reasonable control including without limitation lack of adequate instructions from the Buyer, Governmental regulations or requirements, Acts of God, unavailability of materials, work stoppages, strikes, slowdowns, boycotts or other industrial action and in such case may wholly or partially suspend shipment of Goods.
PAYMENT
TETS accepts most major credit cards for online orders. You will be asked to enter your card details and the name and the address of the card holder when you place the order. These details will be checked and we may hold an order until we receive the correct details. You will be contacted if we find the card or address details to be incorrect. For offline orders TETS accept (£) Sterling Postal Orders, Personal Cheques (made payable to: Cambridge Bike Hire Ltd), (£) Sterling Bank Drafts, (£) Sterling Bank Transfers. We recommend that you do not send cash through the post. Due to varying exchange rates all payments made to TETS in other currencies must agree with a pro-forma invoice which can be faxed or emailed.
CREDIT CARD SECURITY
We take online security extremely seriously and have taken several steps to ensure that your payment information is processed confidentially and accurately.
TETS offer the use of secure servers where information is protected by industry recognised encryption technology which works with Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, AOL and other browsers including Mozilla. This encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information that you send us. When your order is processed your encrypted credit card number is removed from the web server. This means that there is no way that someone can obtain your credit card number from TETS so you can order with confidence!

PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
TETS updates the availability of the entire stock list on a daily basis. Items that are 'Out Of Stock' will be displayed as such. In the rare event of a problem with availability of a product marked 'In Stock', we will contact you. You may then wish to cancel the order or wait until the item becomes available.
OUT OF STOCK ORDERS
There are times when items become temporarily 'Out Of Stock', and these items are marked as such in the site. If you order an 'Out Of Stock' product, we will send out the order to you as soon as the product becomes available again. If we cannot source the item we will contact you to inform you. Your credit card will not be debited until we dispatch the product.
MARKED DOWN PRODUCTS
From time to time we will sell display/shop soiled bikes and resell bikes we have accepted on part exchange. These bikes will be sold as described and you will need to read the description for the warranty terms reasons for mark down. Our return policy still applies unless otherwise stated.

Larger items will have special delivery conditions which we will discuss with you to ensure your convenience and satisfaction.
International orders are charged separately if purchasing online. Credit/Debit card payments can be made over the phone using a valid credit card, however management reserve the right to request proof of identification. RISK
(a) Risk of damage to or loss of the Goods shall pass to the Buyer at the time of delivery of the Goods.
(b) Delivery of the Goods shall be deemed to take place at the time the same are posted by CEM in a package addressed to the Buyer, placed in the hands of our delivery agent.
OWNERSHIP
At the Sellers discretion, ownership of the Goods may not pass from the Seller to the Buyer until the Buyer has made a payment in full thereof (and any other monies owing to the Seller). If payment is not made in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Sale, the Seller shall have the right (without prejudice to the obligation of the Buyer to purchase the Goods, and to any other remedy that may be available to the Seller) to retake possession of Goods not fully paid for.

TETS takes its relationship with customers extremely seriously, and we dedicate a great deal of effort to ensure that we keep you happy. We aim to reply to all emails within one working day of receipt, regardless of the nature of your request. GENERAL
The Seller is The Electric Transport Shop. The Buyer is any person or company who buys or has agreed to buy Goods from the Seller.
Goods means any goods provided by the Seller in accordance with the Sellers standard Terms & Conditions of Sale. Conditions means the Standard Terms and Conditions of sale set out in this document. These Terms & Conditions of Sate supersede any previous Terms & Conditions of Sate of the Seller. Any variations of these Terms & Conditions must be confirmed in writing by the Seller and will not otherwise be valid. Any waiver by the Seller of these Terms & Conditions of Sale on any occasion shall merely act as a waiver on that occasion, and shall not affect the Sellers right to enforce these Terms & Conditions on any further occasion, no Terms & Conditions stipulated by the Buyer shall have effect unless otherwise agreed in writing from the Seller.

If we decide to change our Terms and Conditions, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
