Terms, Conditions & Privacy Policy


GENERAL
The Seller is The Electric Transport Shop (TETS). The Buyer is any person or company who buys or has agreed to buy Goods from the Seller. Goods means any goods provided by the Seller in accordance with the Seller's standard Terms & Conditions of Sale. Conditions means the Standard Terms and Conditions of sale set out in this document. These Terms & Conditions of Sale supersede any previous Terms & Conditions of Sate of the Seller. Any variations of these Terms & Conditions must be confirmed in writing by the Seller and will not otherwise be valid. Any waiver by the Seller of these Terms & Conditions of Sale on any occasion shall merely act as a waiver on that occasion, and shall not affect the Seller's right to enforce these terms & conditions on any further occasion, no terms & conditions stipulated by the Buyer shall have effect unless otherwise agreed in writing from the Seller.

YOUR RIGHTS
TETS is a UK based company and complies with UK consumer law including the Distance Selling Regulations. This means that shopping with us is safe. Our terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

RETURNING AN ITEM FOR REFUND OR EXCHANGE It is advised to contact us before you make a return. A Return Form must be completed and sent with any return. Goods must be returned within 7 days of receipt. Goods must be in original packaging. Goods must not be fitted or used. The customer is responsible for meeting the return postage costs. We can arrange our courier to collect the bike from you. The charge for this is £35 and must be met before our courier is instructed. The customer is fully responsible for ensuring that the goods arrive in good condition.

WARRANTIES
If a product purchased from TETS has developed a fault then please contact us as many problems can be sorted out over the telephone or by email. Warranties do not include general wear and tear, or faults caused by misuse. Batteries are guaranteed for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of purchase.  This guarantee does not include misuse of the battery such as not following the manufacturer's guidelines for charging, discharging and storing the battery. We reserve the right to send you either replacement parts for standard items (which we expect you to fit) including brakes, cables, fixings etc. If the nature of the problem is such that it requires professional attention, you may return the product to us for repair within the warranty period. Goods must be clean and not covered in dirt and oil. If the bike has been in anyway tampered with or modified then this will invalidate the warranty. The warranty does not cover incorrectly assembled bicycles, sub-standard repairs, or poorly looked (neglected) items. This includes extensive rain damage and other weather damage. The warranty may be invalidated if the bike is not kept indoors or undercover. If an item needs to be returned then the customer is responsible for getting the item to our premises. This includes meeting the packaging and postage (courier) costs. We can arrange our courier to collect the bike from you for a charge of £30 and this must be met before our courier is instructed to collect. The customer is fully responsible for ensuring that the goods arrive in good condition. Our couriers will not collect items not suitably packaged and protected. We do not accept any responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit regardless of the method of return used. We do not accept the return of helmets for hygiene and safety reasons

LOCAL HELP
If you require local help to assemble your bike or to carry out maintenance on your bike we are happy to liaise with your preferred local bicycle shop to ensure you get the service you nee. Any charges incurred in using a local bike shop will be met by you the customer. It is possible that we already have an agreement with a bicycle shop in your area so give us a call. We don't want you to be stuck, or to be riding a bike that has not been set up correctly before use.

WRONG ITEMS RECEIVED
If we have sent you the wrong item we will be happy to correct our mistake and subject to written agreement, meet the costs for returning the item. We will not accept responsibility for any items lost or damaged in transit. It is the customer's responsibility to obtain any insurance cover required. Goods must be returned within 7 days of receipt. Goods must be in original packaging. Goods must not be fitted or used. All returns should be made to the store that the item was purchased from. If it was an online purchase then contact us before sending. Please be aware of our opening hours as this will affect receipt of any returns you may make.

ORDERS & SPECIFICATIONS
No order submitted by the buyer shall be deemed to be accepted by the seller unless and until confirmed by the seller's authorised representative. The buyer shall be responsible to the seller for ensuring the accuracy of the terms of any order (including any applicable specification) submitted by the buyer and for giving the seller any necessary information relating to the goods within a sufficient time to enable the seller to perform the contract in accordance with those terms. The quality, description and quantity of and any specification for the goods shall be those set out in the seller's quotation (if acceptable by the buyer) or the buyers order (if accepted by the seller). For any goods manufactured, the buyer shall indemnify the seller against all claims,loss, damages and expenses incurred or for any infringement of patent, copyright,design, trademark or other intellectual property rights for which the seller may become liable by following the requirements or specification supplied. The seller reserves the right to make any changes to the specification for goods,which are required to conform to, any statutory or safety requirements

FORCE MAJEURE
The Electric Transport Shop will not be liable to the Buyer or deemed to be in breach of contract because of any delay or non-performance directly or indirectly due to any cause beyond TETS reasonable control including without limitation lack of adequate instructions from the Buyer, Governmental regulations or requirements, Acts of God, unavailability of materials, work stoppages, strikes, slowdowns, boycotts or other industrial action and in such case may wholly or partially suspend shipment of Goods.

PAYMENTS
TETS accepts most major credit cards for online orders. You will be asked to enter your card details and the name and the address of the card holder when you place the order. These details will be checked and we may hold an order until we receive the correct details. You will be contacted if we find the card or address details to be incorrect. For orders in the shop or over the phone, TETS accept (£) Sterling, Pay pal Payments. Postal Orders, Personal Cheques (made payable to: The Electric Transport Shop Ltd), (£) Sterling Bank Drafts, (£) Sterling Bank Transfers (BACS). We recommend that you do not send cash through the post. If you do so, you should use Recorded or Special Delivery. We can accept cash payments but our shops do not generally hold any cash or change.  Due to varying exchange rates all payments made to TETS in other currencies must agree with a proforma invoice which can be faxed or emailed.

CREDIT CARD SECURITY
We take online security extremely seriously and have taken several steps to ensure that your payment information is processed confidentially and accurately. TETS offer the use of secure servers. When your order is processed your encrypted credit card number is removed from the web server. This means that the details are safe and there is no way that someone can obtain your credit card number from TETS. You can order from TETS online with confidence.

PRIVACY POLICY
The Electric Transport Shop is a customer focused business and we wish to provide you with a personalised customer experience. We will require some of your personal details to process an order or a query and we guarantee that this information will only be shared with our delivery agents in order to complete your order. You can choose for us to retain some of your information for subsequent visits to make your experience as efficient and friendly as is possible. Any details retained will be stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or any other reason. We would like to keep you informed of our special deals and events in your locality where, as a previous customer (electric bike purchases only), you will have the opportunity to test the latest models free of charge. If you would not like us to keep you informed of the above simply let us know and we will remove your details from our database.

DATA SECURITY
The Electric Transport Shop is committed to taking reasonable steps to protect the individual identifying information that you provide to us. Use of Cookies: A cookie is a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you've visited, but the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Some parts of The Electric Transport Shop use cookies to track user traffic patterns. We do this in order to determine the usefulness of TETS information to our users and to see how effective our navigational structure is in helping users reach that information. The Electric Transport Shop Systems does not correlate this information with data about individual users, nor does it share this information or sell it to any third party. If you prefer not to receive cookies on The Electric Transport Shop, you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie when your browser alerts you to its presence. You can also refuse all cookies by turning them off in your browser. You do not need to have cookies turned on to use any area of The Electric Transport Shop’s website.

OWNERSHIP
At the seller's discretion, ownership of the Goods may not pass from the Seller to the Buyer until the Buyer has made a payment in full thereof (and any other monies owing to the Seller). If payment is not made in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Sale, the Seller shall have the right (without prejudice to the obligation of the Buyer to purchase the Goods, and to any other remedy that may be available to the Seller) to retake possession of Goods not fully paid for.

COMPLAINTS
TETS takes its relationship with customers extremely seriously, and we dedicate a great deal of effort to ensure that we keep you happy. We aim to reply to all emails within one working day of receipt, regardless of the nature of your request.
