Simply pop along to one of our stores and arrange your free 3 day trial.
What do I need to do?
- Pop into one of our stores with a passport or drivers licence photo ID and a proof of address.
- Decide which bike you would like to trial and allow us to pre-authorise a debit or credit card for the value of the machine. (Pre-authorisation only puts a hold on the requested amount, it does not actually take the money).
- When the bike has been received from Ultramotor pop in, collect and have fun.
- When the trial has ended you can place an order (no charges will apply) or you can decide not to proceed (£40 will be requested to cover UltraMotors transportation costs).
Of course we have store demo's which you can have for a shorter test ride or a weekend test ride should you prefer to do this.

14/11/11 - Cambridgeshire County Coucil Travel Plan Plus have now had 2 SMARTA ebikes operating as pool bikes on St Johns Innovation Centre Cambridge for 2 years. It's a massive success and we will be working with them to encourage more drivers to commute by bike.
16/10/2011 - Cambridge University Eco Racing Team... represented the UK in the World Solar Challenge a race where the cars can only be powered by solar energy. How fast do you think they go? See here for more links.
28/09/2011 - Storck Raddar..Bikes have completed our tests and come through with strong results. They offer good value at the top end and are immediately available in our carefully selected range of pedelecs and ebikes.
23/09/2011 - SMARTA bikes.. are still in regular use by Travel Plan Plus at the Cambridge Science Park. These are free for Science and Business Park workers to use. The bikes are standing up incredibly well to a LOT of commuter use owing to their unbeatable reliability, superb build quality, decent performance, and ease of maintenance. 19/07/2011 - We are currently testing the Pedego ebikes. Conclusion: This ebike achieved the longest coast we have seen so there is little resistance in the motor and they haven't skimped on the quality of the rolling components. Although the power was smooth we found it to be lacking oomph with no starting boost and poor performance on hills. Unfortunately we wont be offering it in our range because it contains non UK or EU standard bicycle parts. It is a pity because it oozes cool and good looks for those sunny rides along the boardwalk.
14/07/2011 - We are currently testing the Ultramotor HYBRID24. Conclusion: Wow! the smoothest, fastest and most powerful pedelec we have tested. The torque sensing algorithms work better than any other pedelec we have tested. It took a few versions of the HYBRID but persistance wins.
12/05/2011 - We are currently testing: the Claud Butler Glide 2. Conclusion: Reasonable power but less hill climbing power than the original Glide 2, battery rattles a lot and creates a high centre of gravity. The power out occurs at 25Km/h and wont reinstate until the speed falls below 20Km/h which makes the ride uncomfortable if you are constantly bouncing off the upper limit.
22/04/2011 - We are currently testing an ebike available new on ebay for a touch under £500. Conclusion: works well but .. we've spotted poor quality components, noticed an uncomfortable ride and the model we have has developed a peculiar noise from the motor bearings... Expensive to fix!
20/03/2011 - We are currently testing: the EBCO Eagle. Conclusion: A reliable ebike with reasonable to good performance.
09/03/2011 - Got a chance to test the Mobiky folding electric bike today. Conclusion: Managed to produce an electronic fault several times in a very short test period. Mobiky declined a longer test. Foregoing a longer test we have to conclude the folding bicycle is well made but the electrics are not reliable enough for our customers.
03/02/2011 - We are currently testing: the new Ultramotor Metro. Conclusion: Smoother than the original Metro. Still an absolute delight to ride; robust and reliable.
15/01/2011 ... Got an old broken eBike in the shed? Get it to us and get it repaired - the cheap and easy way! For the courier's fees we can collect and redeliver your bike using TNT. We'll diagnose the problem(s) without any further cost and will phone you to let you know what is required and the cost involved before going ahead with any work. Any bike sent to us is entirely at your own risk so please ensure it is properly packaged. The whole bike must be packed in a carton with the handlebars and pedals removed from the frame (easy - ask if unsure). If you need a full size bike box, we can send you one (folded up) for £15. Just ask. Please note that if you live within 40 miles of one of our stores then we would prefer for you to bring, and collect, the bike in person. This saves time, money and reduces the chances of damage in transit.
